REFLECTORS AND CLEARANCE LIGHTS

Reflectors and Clearance Lights play a crucial role in road safety and visibility. If over time your trailer has lost some of its reflectors or its clearance markers no longer work then its time to talk to Bold Trailers about your replacement options.

While this does only sound like a minor problem, it actually is a lot bigger than u may think. Reflectors and Clearance markers are fitted to a trailer to ensure it meets ADR (Australian Design Rule) requirements, this means that they are therefore required for registration every year. Reflectors and Clearance Markers are there to make other drivers aware of your trailers width and lenght whether it is being towed or stored on the street.

Amber & Red Clearance lights are fitted to trailes over 2.1m wide and that have an overall length of 7.5m, these lights help vehicles behind and oncomming identify the trailer lenght and width when overtaking or passing.

Amber SIde Reflectors must be fitted to all trailers; the exact number depends on the trailers overall lenght but there must be one in the middle 3rd of the trailer, and then also one within 3m of the coupling and 1m of the end.

White Reflectors are fitted to the forward face of the widest point on all trailers over 1.6m wide, these markers assist oncoming vehicle determin the width of your trailer and highlight the trailer when parked in poor visibility

Red Reflectors are fitted to the rear face of the widest point on all trailers over 1.6m wide, these markers assist approaching vehicles determin the width of your trailer and highlight the trailer when parked in poor visibility
